With Christ as our guide and example we celebrate the uniqueness of the individual.
Together we will try to:
Learn from Jesus,
Love like Jesus,
Live like Jesus

Below is a link to our curriculum map which shows the great range of topics we study across the year group including ‘Changing Power of the Monarchy’ and Rivers. We enjoy learning in a creative way and try to incorporate drama across the curriculum. In English we study a range of stimulating text, including novels such as ‘Journey to the River Sea,’ to inspire our own writing. In maths we continue to build on our number skills and accuracy in written calculations. We study fractions, decimals and percentages as well as shape and data.
Regular practice of timetables will help build fluency - TT Rock Stars
Homework and extra practice of maths can be found at MyMaths
Practice of spelling, grammar and punctuation is always helpful to improve writing skills. This can be done at SPAG
Our learning in RE follows the God Matter's programme provided by the Diocese of Portsmouth. Together, we learn about the Catholic faith and other world faiths through topics such as catholic Social Teaching, Advent, Lent, and Revelation.
We are busy planning trips to enhance the Year 5 curriculum. As part of our science topic on Space we will be visiting Winchester Science Museum in the summer term.
